Overview

**Infloran** is an orally administered, strain-defined probiotic product containing viable lyophilized *Bifidobacterium bifidum* NCDO 2203 and *Lactobacillus acidophilus* NCDO 1748. It is manufactured by Laboratorio Farmaceutico SIT and supplied as hard capsules; Australian product information specifies 1 billion CFU of each strain per capsule. The product is used to restore or maintain beneficial intestinal flora and has been evaluated in preterm infants for prevention of necrotizing enterocolitis and late-onset sepsis, as well as for effects on neurodevelopment and vaccine immune responses after neonatal antibiotic exposure.
