Overview

INFLUENZA G1 mHA is an experimental universal influenza vaccine candidate designed to provide broad and durable protection against group 1 influenza A viruses. It is a recombinant subunit vaccine based on a stabilized trimeric hemagglutinin (HA) stem protein derived from the H1 subtype, known as the "mini-hemagglutinin" or "mHA." The vaccine aims to elicit broadly neutralizing antibodies targeting conserved regions of the HA stem, potentially offering cross-protection against diverse seasonal and pandemic strains. Clinical studies have evaluated its safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults using various adjuvant formulations such as aluminum hydroxide (Al(OH)3). The developer is Janssen Vaccines & Prevention BV[1][3][4].
