Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Influenza mRNA Formulation A (GSK4382276A) is an investigational, multivalent mRNA-based vaccine candidate designed for the prevention of seasonal influenza. Developed by GSK in collaboration with CureVac, the vaccine is built upon CureVac's second-generation mRNA backbone and utilizes lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology for delivery. It encodes hemagglutinin (HA) antigens matched to three WHO-recommended influenza strains, providing coverage against both influenza A and B lineages. In Phase 2a clinical trials (NCT06431607), Formulation A demonstrated positive immunogenicity and an acceptable safety and reactogenicity profile in both younger (18–64) and older (65–85) adults. These results supported the progression of the program into Phase 3 development.
