This drug is an inactivated split-virion vaccine developed by Shaanxi Kunqin Biotechnology for the prevention of seasonal influenza. The vaccine is produced by cultivating influenza virus strains (typically H1N1, H3N2, and one or two B lineages) in embryonated chicken eggs. The harvested virus is purified and then chemically disrupted (split) using detergents to reduce reactogenicity while preserving the immunogenicity of the surface antigens, primarily hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA). Upon administration, the vaccine stimulates the host immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies against the HA protein, which prevents the virus from attaching to and entering host cells. Shaanxi Kunqin Biotechnology has advanced both trivalent and quadrivalent formulations into clinical development to address the evolving strains of the influenza virus.
