Overview

The influenza vaccine (split virion), inactivated, quadrivalent developed by Jiangsu Watson Biotechnology is a seasonal influenza vaccine designed to provide broad protection against four circulating influenza strains. It is an inactivated, split-virion vaccine (IIV4) containing hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) antigens from two influenza A subtypes (H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B lineages (Victoria and Yamagata). The virus particles are chemically disrupted (split) to reduce reactogenicity while maintaining the key immunogenic surface proteins. Clinical development has focused on evaluating the safety and immunogenicity of the vaccine in healthy individuals across multiple age groups, including toddlers aged 6–35 months and individuals aged 3 years and older, following WHO-recommended strain compositions for seasonal protection.
