Overview

Fluarix Tetra is a quadrivalent, inactivated, split-virion influenza vaccine developed and manufactured by GSK. It is designed to provide active immunization against four strains of influenza virus: two influenza A subtypes (typically H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B lineages (Victoria and Yamagata). The vaccine is produced using an egg-based manufacturing process where the virus is inactivated and then chemically split. It is updated annually to match the specific strains recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and national regulatory authorities for each influenza season. Fluarix Tetra is administered via intramuscular injection and is indicated for the prevention of seasonal influenza in individuals aged 6 months and older.
