Overview

This Phase IV study investigates the immune response to six-monthly versus annual trivalent inactivated influenza vaccination in elderly participants (aged 65 and older). In this trial context, the Tdap vaccine serves as an active comparator administered to the control group at the 180-day mark to maintain the observer-blind design while providing a standard-of-care health benefit. The influenza component is a standard-dose licensed trivalent inactivated vaccine designed to protect against seasonal influenza A and B strains, while the Tdap component provides booster protection against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis through toxoid and subunit antigens.
