Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Influenza vaccine + W805EC** is a combination of a commercial inactivated influenza vaccine with the nanoemulsion adjuvant W805EC. W805EC is an oil-in-water nanoemulsion composed of pharmaceutical-grade surfactants (Tween 80), soybean oil, and ethanol, developed specifically for mucosal (intranasal) administration. The nanoemulsion serves as a mucosal adjuvant, substantially enhancing both systemic and mucosal antibody responses when combined with inactivated influenza antigens and delivered intranasally. Compared to non-adjuvanted influenza vaccines, this formulation elicits significantly higher titers of virus-specific IgG and IgA antibodies, superior hemagglutination inhibition (HAI) titers, improved cross-protection to heterologous strains, and greater mucosal immunity at mucosal surfaces such as the nasal passages and lungs. In animal models (ferrets and mice), the W805EC-adjuvanted vaccine has demonstrated enhanced protection against influenza challenge, dose-sparing properties, and a robust Th1/Th17-biased immune response without notable safety issues. W805EC contains only FDA GRAS materials and has been produced for investigational purposes by NanoBio Corporation[1][2][3].
