Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The influenza vaccine 2006-2007 formulation refers to the trivalent seasonal vaccines produced for the 2006-2007 Northern Hemisphere influenza season. Following WHO recommendations from February 2006, the formulation targeted three specific viral strains: an A/New Caledonia/20/99 (H1N1)-like virus, an A/Wisconsin/67/2005 (H3N2)-like virus, and a B/Malaysia/2506/2004-like virus (B/Victoria lineage). These vaccines were available in various forms, including inactivated split-virion or subunit injections (e.g., Fluzone, Fluarix, Fluvirin) and a live attenuated intranasal spray (FluMist). They were indicated for the prevention of seasonal influenza infection in children and adults.
