Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is an inactivated split-virion influenza vaccine developed and manufactured by the Shanghai Institute of Biological Products (SIBP), a subsidiary of Sinopharm CNBG. The vaccine is produced using an egg-based platform where influenza virus strains are amplified in embryonated chicken eggs, harvested, inactivated with formaldehyde, and then chemically split and purified to isolate hemagglutinin (HA) antigens. It is available in both trivalent and quadrivalent formulations. The standard formulation contains 15μg of HA per strain per 0.5mL dose and is indicated for the prevention of seasonal influenza in various age groups. SIBP is also developing a high-dose formulation containing 60μg of HA per strain in a 0.7mL volume, specifically designed to enhance immunogenicity in adults aged 60 years and older, who often exhibit reduced immune responses to standard vaccines.
