Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The influenza virus vaccine 2004-2005 formulation is a trivalent, inactivated, split-virion vaccine marketed under the brand name Fluzone. It was developed by Sanofi Pasteur (formerly Aventis Pasteur) for the 2004-2005 northern hemisphere influenza season. The vaccine contains hemagglutinin antigens from three specific viral strains: A/New Caledonia/20/99 (H1N1), A/Wyoming/03/2003 (H3N2), and B/Jiangsu/10/2003. Administered via intramuscular injection, it is designed to induce protective antibody responses against these circulating influenza strains in adults and elderly populations.
