INHAL-101 is a novel, inhaled small-molecule tri-specific inhibitor being developed by Inhalis Therapeutics for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The drug is designed to simultaneously target three key biological pathways involved in the progression of lung fibrosis: phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), and bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4). By inhibiting these pathways, INHAL-101 aims to address multiple fibrotic drivers through a single therapeutic agent. The formulation utilizes proprietary mSAS® supercritical fluid technology to optimize the delivery of the drug directly to the lungs via inhalation. As of late 2024, the candidate was progressing toward Phase 1 clinical trials.
