Overview
ILC (Inhaled Liposomal Cisplatin) is a specialized liposomal formulation of the platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent cisplatin, developed by EnKang Pharmaceuticals. Designed for administration via inhalation, ILC aims to deliver high concentrations of cisplatin directly to lung tissues, thereby enhancing therapeutic efficacy against pulmonary malignancies while significantly reducing the systemic toxicities (such as nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity) typically associated with intravenous cisplatin administration. The drug has received Phase III clinical trial approval from both the US FDA and the China NMPA for the treatment of small cell lung cancer (SCLC). It is also being evaluated for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in combination with immunotherapy and for lung metastases.
