Overview

Inidascamine is an orally administered small molecule in clinical development for cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia (CIAS). It is being developed by Recognify Life Sciences, a subsidiary of atai Life Sciences. Inidascamine has been evaluated in multiple clinical studies, including a recent Phase 2b randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. While the primary cognitive endpoint was not met, modest numerical improvements were observed across several neurocognitive domains and functional assessments. The drug has shown a favorable safety and tolerability profile, notably lacking common antipsychotic adverse effects such as sedation, weight gain, or extrapyramidal symptoms. Its precise molecular mechanism of action has not been publicly disclosed, but it is under investigation as a potential novel therapy for CIAS[3][6][8][9].
