iNK005 is an off-the-shelf chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-engineered natural killer (NK) cell therapy derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Developed by Cell Inspire Biotechnology, iNK005 is designed to target G protein-coupled receptor class C group 5 member D (GPRC5D), an orphan receptor that is highly and specifically expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. The use of iPSC-derived NK cells allows for standardized, large-scale production of therapeutic cells that can be administered to patients without the need for individualized manufacturing. The CAR construct enables the iNK cells to recognize GPRC5D-expressing cells and exert potent cytotoxic activity, leading to the lysis of tumor cells. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
