iNK009 is an off-the-shelf, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-engineered natural killer (NK) cell therapy derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Developed by Cell Inspire Biotechnology, iNK009 is specifically engineered to target B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), a protein highly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. To enhance the therapeutic efficacy, the cells are further modified to secrete interleukin-15 (IL-15), a cytokine that promotes the proliferation, survival, and persistence of NK cells within the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. By utilizing an iPSC-derived platform, iNK009 aims to provide a standardized, scalable alternative to autologous cell therapies, potentially reducing manufacturing time and costs while maintaining high antitumor potency. The drug is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of multiple myeloma.
