Overview

Inleusin is a recombinant human interleukin-2 (rhIL-2) immunotherapy developed and marketed by 3SBio. Approved by the Chinese National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in 1995 and launched in 1996, it was one of the first domestically produced biotechnology drugs in China. Inleusin functions as a cytokine that binds to the interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2R) complex on the surface of immune cells, such as T-lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cells. This binding triggers signaling pathways that promote the proliferation, differentiation, and activation of these effector cells, thereby enhancing the host's anti-tumor immune response. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma, and is also used in the management of malignant pleural and peritoneal effusions.
