Overview
Innocell is an autologous therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by PhotonPharma for the treatment of solid tumors, with a primary focus on advanced and recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer. The vaccine is a personalized immunotherapy created by harvesting a patient's own tumor cells, which are then inactivated using Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies' Mirasol Pathogen Reduction Technology (PRT). This inactivation process employs riboflavin and ultraviolet light to render the tumor cells non-replicative while preserving their antigenic profile, thereby enabling the immune system to recognize and attack the cancer. As of 2024, Innocell has received FDA clearance for Phase I clinical trials, with manufacturing conducted at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center.
