Overview

InnoLak is an autologous adoptive immune cell therapy consisting of lymphokine-activated killer (LAK) cells. Developed by the Korea Cancer Center Hospital, the therapy involves harvesting a patient's peripheral white blood cells, which are then expanded and stimulated ex vivo using various cytokines and tumor-specific antigens. This process enhances the cells' ability to recognize and eliminate malignant cells upon re-infusion. In clinical research, InnoLak has been investigated for the treatment of recurrent or persistent cervical cancer, particularly in combination with low-dose whole-body radiation. The radiation is intended to sensitize tumor cells and augment the immune response elicited by the adoptive cell transfer, providing a potential therapeutic option for patients resistant to conventional palliative treatments.
