Drug intelligence / Profile preview
InnoSEAL Plus (including its double-layer formulation InnoSEAL Plus DL) is a bio-inspired, coagulant-free, absorbable hemostatic patch developed by SCL Science (formerly InnoTherapy). Inspired by the wet-adhesion mechanism of marine mussels, the patch is composed of a chitosan-catechol (CHI-C) conjugate, with the DL version incorporating a gelatin sealing layer for mechanical support. Unlike traditional fibrin-based sealants that rely on human-derived coagulation proteins, InnoSEAL Plus promotes rapid hemostasis and wet-tissue adhesion through direct chemical interactions with blood proteins. This mechanism functions independently of the patient's endogenous coagulation cascade, making it highly effective even in patients with coagulation disorders or those receiving anticoagulant therapy. It is primarily indicated for controlling diffuse parenchymal bleeding during surgical procedures such as hepatectomy.
