Overview

INO-1400 is a synthetic DNA immunotherapy vaccine developed to treat various cancers. It encodes the full-length sequence of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT), an enzyme overexpressed in most cancer cells but not in normal cells. Delivered as a plasmid-based DNA vaccine, INO-1400 induces the body to produce the hTERT protein, which is then recognized as foreign by immune T-cells. This triggers an immune response targeting and destroying cancer cells expressing hTERT. The therapy aims to reduce relapse rates in patients at high risk after standard treatments for cancers such as breast, lung, pancreas, head and neck, ovary, colon, stomach, and esophagus[1][2][3][4][5].
