Overview

INO-3107 is an investigational DNA immunotherapy developed to treat recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP), a chronic airway disease caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6 and 11. The drug is designed to elicit an antigen-specific T cell response against HPV-6 and HPV-11 proteins. These targeted T cells seek out and kill infected cells, aiming to prevent or slow the growth of new papillomas. In clinical trials, INO-3107 demonstrated the ability to induce strong immune responses—specifically activating CD4 and CD8 T cells with lytic potential—and showed persistent cellular memory responses up to one year post-treatment. The therapy was well tolerated in studies, with most adverse events being mild (e.g., injection site pain, fatigue). Its mechanism leverages DNA medicine technology that avoids anti-vector immunity issues seen with viral vector platforms[1][2][4][5][6].
