Overview

INO-3605 + INO-3609 is a combination DNA vaccine developed by Inovio Pharmaceuticals for the prevention of influenza. It consists of two separate DNA plasmids: INO-3605, which encodes the H1 hemagglutinin (HA) antigen, and INO-3609, which encodes the H5 HA antigen. The vaccine is administered via intradermal injection followed by electroporation using Inovio's CELLECTRA device, which facilitates the entry of the DNA into host cells. Once inside, the cells express the HA proteins, stimulating both humoral and cellular immune responses against the targeted influenza subtypes. This combination was evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial (NCT01914250) to assess its safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults.
