INO-4202 is an investigational DNA vaccine developed by Inovio Pharmaceuticals. It encodes a synthetic gene for the Ebola virus glycoprotein, designed to stimulate an immune response against Ebola virus infection. INO-4202 is one of two components (the other being INO-4201) that are combined in the bivalent vaccine candidate known as INO-4212. The vaccine aims to induce immunity by delivering DNA sequences encoding Ebola glycoproteins into host cells, prompting them to produce viral proteins and trigger both humoral and cellular immune responses. The primary indication under investigation is prevention of Ebola virus disease (hemorrhagic fever, Ebola). As of the latest available data, clinical development has reached Phase 1 trials[1][2].
