Overview

INO-5150 is an investigational dual-antigen synthetic DNA vaccine developed for the treatment of prostate cancer. It targets both prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) and prostate-specific antigen (PSA), which are highly expressed in most prostate cancer cells. The vaccine uses DNA sequences encoding these antigens to induce the body’s immune system to recognize and attack tumor cells expressing PSA and PSMA. Upon administration, the DNA is translated into protein, activating a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte response aimed at eliminating cancerous cells and inhibiting tumor proliferation. Clinical trials have shown that INO-5150 can generate strong antigen-specific CD8+ T cell responses, slow PSA rise, increase PSA doubling times, and potentially delay disease progression in patients with recurrent prostate cancer. The drug was developed using Inovio's proprietary SynCon process[1][3][4][5][6].
