inolimomab

Inolimomab is a murine (mouse-derived) monoclonal antibody that targets CD25, the alpha subunit of the interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2Rα), found on activated T cells. By binding to CD25, inolimomab blocks interleukin-2 signaling and prevents clonal expansion of T cells, resulting in immunosuppression. This mechanism is particularly useful in treating steroid-refractory acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Inolimomab has shown efficacy comparable to other monoclonal antibodies but may carry a higher risk of infections. It has been developed under the brand name Leukotac and received orphan drug designation for GVHD treatment in Europe[1][3][4][5][6].
