Drug intelligence / Profile preview
INS-R2T is an investigational oral insulin formulation being developed by Lamark Biotech for the treatment of diabetes. The drug utilizes Lamark's proprietary InStrong™ technology, which acts as a "molecular shield" to protect peptide therapeutics from enzymatic degradation and acidic conditions within the gastrointestinal tract. By facilitating the transport of insulin across the intestinal epithelium into the systemic circulation, INS-R2T aims to provide a non-invasive alternative to traditional subcutaneous insulin injections. This oral delivery approach is intended to improve patient adherence and provide a more physiological portal delivery of insulin. The program is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development.
