Overview

INS19 is a follow-on biologic version of filgrastim (Neupogen), a recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) developed by Insmed to prevent infections in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. It demonstrated bioequivalence to Neupogen in early clinical studies and was planned for Phase III evaluation before Insmed sold its follow-on biologics program, including INS19, to Merck in 2009 for $130 million. Separately, a distinct investigational CAR-T cell therapy named INS19 CAR-T Cells, targeting CD19, is under development by Beijing Imunopharm Technology for relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) in a Phase 1 trial (NCT06209671).
