Overview

INSB200 is a hydrogel-lipid-microparticle matrix containing ropivacaine, characterized by a dual-phase release of the drug. It's designed for extended-release pain control, particularly for post-operative pain management. The matrix has unique ultrasound characteristics that enable physicians to visualize the placement of medication adjacent to tissue targets. In pre-clinical studies, INSB200 has demonstrated the ability to provide effective pain relief for over 120 hours (5 days) after a single injection, significantly longer than traditional and long-acting local anesthetics. Compared to Exparel (a competitor), INSB200 has shown superior upfront nerve block and extended-release results in animal models. It's being developed by InSitu Biologics as an opioid-free solution for post-operative pain.
