Overview

iNSC-IL7 is an experimental cellular immunotherapy consisting of human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neural stem cells (iNSCs) engineered to deliver the immunostimulatory cytokine interleukin-7 (IL7). Developed for the treatment of glioblastoma (GBM), the therapy leverages the innate tumor-homing capabilities of neural stem cells to provide localized, intratumoral delivery of IL7. This approach aims to overcome the immunologically "cold" tumor microenvironment characteristic of GBM by increasing cytotoxic CD8+ T cell infiltration and activity. Preclinical studies in syngeneic mouse models have demonstrated significant tumor regression and extended survival, particularly when combined with immune checkpoint inhibitors like anti-PD-1 or anti-CTLA-4 antibodies.
