This investigational combination therapy consists of insulin and liraglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, being studied by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine for the treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus. The regimen involves using liraglutide as an adjunctive therapy to insulin delivered through a closed-loop insulin delivery system (artificial pancreas).
