Overview

Insulin aspart + dextrose is a combination of two substances: insulin aspart, a rapid-acting recombinant human insulin analog used to lower blood glucose by mimicking the body's natural insulin response, and dextrose, a form of glucose commonly used in clinical settings as a source of immediate energy or to treat hypoglycemia. Insulin aspart promotes glucose uptake into muscle and adipose tissue, suppresses hepatic glucose production, and inhibits lipolysis and proteolysis, acting mainly through the insulin receptor tyrosine kinase on target tissues[1][2]. Dextrose increases circulating blood glucose via direct carbohydrate supplementation. Such a combination may occasionally be employed in controlled clinical/research settings (e.g., glucose clamp studies) but is not a standard, marketed combination therapy or product.
