Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Insulin aspart + recombinant human hyaluronidase ph20** is a fixed-dose combination of a rapid-acting insulin analog (*insulin aspart*) and the enzyme *recombinant human hyaluronidase PH20*. Insulin aspart is designed to mimic postprandial endogenous insulin spikes, promoting cellular uptake of glucose through activation of the insulin receptor. Recombinant human hyaluronidase PH20 increases insulin dispersion and accelerates absorption in subcutaneous tissue, resulting in a faster onset and shorter duration of insulin action compared to insulin aspart alone[3]. This combination is being investigated for improved glycemic control in adults and children with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus[2][3]. Trials to date show a significant increase in early insulin exposure and reduced variability of insulin absorption, with safety and tolerability similar to insulin aspart alone[3].
