Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GP40071 is a biosimilar of insulin aspart, a short-acting insulin analogue used to control postprandial glycemia levels in diabetic patients. It is developed by GEROPHARM as part of their biosimilar clinical development program. Clinical trials have demonstrated bioequivalence, similar pharmacodynamics, and comparable safety profiles between GP40071 and the reference product NovoRapid® (Novo Nordisk). The drug works by lowering levels of glucose in the blood, starting to work about 15 minutes after injection, peaking in about 1 hour, and keeping working for 2 to 4 hours.
