Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Merilog (insulin aspart-szjj) is a rapid-acting human insulin analog biosimilar to NovoLog (insulin aspart), approved for improving glycemic control in adults and pediatric patients with diabetes mellitus. It is administered subcutaneously within 5–10 minutes before a meal and is available in both 10 mL multiple-dose vials and 3 mL single-patient-use prefilled pens. The mechanism of action involves increasing peripheral glucose uptake, especially by skeletal muscle and fat, while inhibiting hepatic glucose production. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Merilog provides noninferior glycemic control compared to the reference product with a similar safety profile[1][2][4][6].
