**Insulin isophane + insulin glulisine** is a combination of two insulins used for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. **Insulin isophane** (also known as NPH insulin) is an intermediate-acting human insulin that forms a depot at the injection site, releasing insulin slowly to provide basal glycemic control. **Insulin glulisine** is a rapid-acting insulin analog that is quickly absorbed after subcutaneous injection and is used to control postprandial blood glucose spikes.
