Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 6 fragment is a 14 kDa endogenous peptide fragment derived from insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 6 (IGFBP6). Discovered through the screening of a human hemofiltrate peptide library, this fragment acts as an inhibitor of the interaction between insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1) and the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF1R). By blocking IGF1R signaling, which is a key pathway in cellular anabolism and cancer progression, the fragment is being investigated as a potential therapeutic agent for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
