Insulin-secreting human adipose tissue derived mesenchymal stem cells (IS-h-ADMSC) are a type of cell therapy. These cells are mesenchymal stem cells that originate from human adipose tissue and have been engineered to secrete insulin. They are utilized in co-transplantation strategies, often alongside hematopoietic stem cells, to treat conditions such as insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM), particularly in the context of polyglandular autoimmune syndrome type 3 (PGAS-3). The therapeutic aim is to provide a sustained source of insulin to help regulate blood glucose levels.
