Insulin TE-8035

TE-8035 is an ultralong-acting human insulin analog developed by Immunwork. It features three site-specific amino acid mutations and a unique modification at lysine residue #29 on the B chain, where a fatty acid bundle containing two C20 diacid long-chain fatty acids is conjugated. This structural modification extends its duration of action compared to other insulins such as icodec. In preclinical studies using streptozocin-induced diabetic mice, TE-8035 demonstrated superior glucose-lowering effects and HbA1c reduction over extended periods compared to icodec, suggesting potential for once-weekly or even biweekly dosing in humans. Its primary indication is for diabetes mellitus, particularly type 1 diabetes.
