Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Insuman Comb 25 is a pre-mixed, biphasic human insulin formulation used to manage blood glucose in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults and children. It contains 25% soluble (short-acting) human insulin and 75% isophane (intermediate-acting) human insulin in suspension. This drug replaces or supplements endogenous insulin, facilitating glucose uptake in muscle and fat tissues and inhibiting hepatic glucose production, thereby lowering blood sugar levels following meals and maintaining glycemic control. It is produced by recombinant DNA technology and is intended for subcutaneous administration. Insuman Comb 25 reduces the risk of microvascular and macrovascular diabetes complications, including retinopathy, nephropathy, and neuropathy.
