Insuman Comb 50

Insuman Comb 50 is a biphasic human insulin formulation used to manage blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus (both type 1 and type 2). It contains a combination of two forms of human insulin produced by recombinant DNA technology in Escherichia coli: 50% dissolved (soluble) regular human insulin (short-acting) and 50% crystalline protamine human insulin (intermediate-acting). This premixed suspension provides both rapid onset and moderately long duration of action. The mechanism involves mimicking endogenous insulin by stimulating glucose uptake into muscle and fat tissue while inhibiting hepatic glucose production, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.
