Drug intelligence / Profile preview
InsuTab is an investigational buccal insulin formulation developed by Insu Therapeutics, a spin-off of the University of British Columbia (UBC). It is designed to deliver insulin through the lining of the mouth (buccal mucosa) using a mucoadhesive, layered dosage-form architecture with a unidirectional release mechanism. This needle-free alternative to injectable insulin is intended for the treatment of diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2) and does not require fasting or food/drink restrictions around dosing.
