Overview

Intefen is a recombinant human interferon alpha-2a (IFN-α-2a) developed by 3SBio Inc. It is a biologic drug that exhibits broad-spectrum antiviral, antitumor, and immunomodulatory activities. By binding to the Type I interferon receptor (IFNAR), it activates the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, leading to the induction of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) that inhibit viral replication, suppress cell proliferation, and enhance the host immune response. Intefen is indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B and C, as well as various malignancies including hairy cell leukemia, genital warts, and certain types of lymphoma. It is formulated as a solution for intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intralesional administration.
