Integra Flowable Wound Matrix (IFWM) is an injectable wound care product consisting of a lyophilized, micronized matrix of bovine tendon collagen and glycosaminoglycan (specifically chondroitin-6-sulfate). Developed by Integra LifeSciences, it is designed for the management of chronic and acute wounds with complex geometries, such as deep tunneled or cavity ulcers, where traditional sheet-form dermal substitutes cannot achieve adequate contact with the wound bed. The matrix acts as a three-dimensional scaffold that facilitates cellular infiltration, proliferation, and neo-vascularization, thereby promoting the regeneration of dermal tissue. It is frequently utilized in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, postsurgical wounds, and traumatic injuries, and has been explored for reconstructive applications such as nipple and nasal dorsum augmentation.
