Overview

Integra Flowable Wound Matrix is an advanced wound care product composed of granulated cross-linked bovine tendon collagen and glycosaminoglycan (specifically chondroitin-6-sulfate). It is designed to be hydrated with saline to form a flowable gel, which can then be applied to deep, tunneled, or undermined wounds that are difficult to access with traditional sheet-based matrices. The matrix provides a three-dimensional scaffold that supports cellular invasion, capillary growth, and tissue regeneration. It is primarily utilized for the management of complex wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers. Georgetown University has been a key collaborator in clinical evaluations, specifically investigating its efficacy in high-risk diabetic populations through randomized controlled trials.
