Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yundeshu is a nebulized formulation of recombinant human interferon alfa-1b (rhIFN-α1b) developed by Beijing Sanyuan Gene Pharmaceutical. It is a type I interferon that binds to the interferon-alpha/beta receptor (IFNAR) complex, initiating the JAK-STAT signaling cascade. This activation leads to the induction of numerous interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) that provide broad-spectrum antiviral activity, inhibit viral replication, and modulate the host immune response. Yundeshu is specifically investigated for the treatment of pediatric lower respiratory tract infections, including those caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), pneumonia, and bronchiolitis, where direct delivery to the lungs via nebulization enhances local therapeutic efficacy.
