This is a combination therapy consisting of interferon alfa-2b and temozolomide. Interferon alfa-2b is a recombinant cytokine with immunomodulatory, antiproliferative, and antiangiogenic properties. Temozolomide is an oral alkylating agent that induces DNA damage in tumor cells by methylating guanine residues, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. The combination has been investigated primarily for the treatment of malignant melanoma and high-grade glioma (HGG), where it aims to enhance antitumor efficacy through both direct cytotoxic effects (temozolomide) and immune modulation (interferon alfa-2b).
