A combination of interferon beta-1a and omega-3 fatty acids that was investigated for the treatment of multiple sclerosis. Interferon beta-1a is a recombinant form of human interferon that works by decreasing inflammation and preventing nerve damage in the central nervous system. Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids with potential anti-inflammatory effects. Clinical trials showed that the combination did not provide additional benefits compared to interferon beta-1a alone for multiple sclerosis treatment.
