Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Interferon hybrid is a recombinant interferon hybrid protein (a single-molecule, two-gene hybrid) being developed by Heligenics for the treatment of multiple sclerosis. Discovered and optimized using Heligenics' proprietary GigaAssay™ high-throughput functional screening platform, this hybrid protein is engineered from multiple interferon genes to optimize potency, safety, and efficacy. It is designed to activate interferon receptor signaling, mimicking or improving upon natural type I interferon activity to reduce the excessive inflammation and neurodegeneration associated with multiple sclerosis.
