Drug intelligence / Profile preview
interferon-rsv (also known as IFN-RSV) is a preclinical-stage investigational vaccine candidate being developed by Canthevac for the prevention or treatment of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. Built on Canthevac's proprietary Interferon-integrated Vaccine Platform (IVP), the candidate incorporates interferon activity directly into a live-attenuated vaccine construct targeting RSV. This novel modality is designed to be administered intranasally, where it infects respiratory epithelial cells and triggers the release of interferon, activating local antiviral defenses and boosting mucosal T-cell and B-cell immunity. By combining vaccine-based immune stimulation with the direct antiviral properties of interferons, the vaccine aims to provide robust and comprehensive protection against RSV.
